Starting from June 2023, Hong Kong Tramways gradually introduces a new electronic payment system on regular passenger trams for public’s convenience in fare payment.
The new system supports credit cards, mobile payment devices and QR codes. Passengers can use 12 electronic payment methods on all regular tram routes, in addition to Octopus cards and cash, making a total of 14 fare payment options available.

When the system makes a beeping sound and shows "Welcome Aboard”, the transaction is considered successful.
Notes:
AlipayHK "EasyGo" and Alipay "Transit QR Code" mobile apps provide ticket options for adults, children under 12 and senior citizens aged 65 or above;
Passengers must use Octopus cards to enjoy tram and KMB designated cross-harbour routes interchange discount;
Your credit card issuing bank may impose additional charges on cross-border transactions which are not collected by Hong Kong Tramways. You are advised to check with your bank.
