Sheung Wan & Central

"Trams bring in warmth, apply a gentle human touch to the manufactured world of the Central Business District."

Taking the tram is the best way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Hong Kong Tramways has been running through the city since 1904, and is still providing the most affordable rides to the public. Did you know that the tram used to ride along the waterfront? Just imagine the views!

Tram #120 is the traditional post-war type tramcar. If you get a chance, hop on, head straight for upper deck where the seats are still made of rattan and the windows of wood. This vintage tram is also beloved by many motormen because of its valuable British control system!

"A bright spot amidst the dull office towers". This graffiti tram is created by Barcelona-based artist Tim Marsh and co-presented by Design District Hong Kong and HKWALLS to bring a little burst of creativity into our everyday city life. Nice to know: the unexceptional World Wide House behind the tram used to be the General Post Office, one of the city's most stunning colonial buildings.

Halfway Coffee

Tommy got the idea for Halfway Coffee from his travels, when he had a cup of coffee half way of a trip. "The best thing about being here in Sheung Wan is to be part of this close-knit community. Halfway is basically like an extended family living room," says Tommy.
