Hong Kong Tramways New Fare System

(3 June 2011, Hong Kong) Hong Kong Tramways, Limited (“Hong Kong Tramways”) is pleased to remind the passengers that the Chief Executive in Council had approved 30-cent increase for adult fare and 20-cent increase for child fare of tram service. New fare system will take effect from next Tuesday (7 June 2011).

Child
(Aged 3 or above and under 12) 		$1.20
Senior Citizen
(Aged 65 or above)		 $1.00
($1.10 effective 7 June 2012)
Monthly Ticket $200.00
(Effective July 2011)

Due to the surge in operating costs and progressive decline in ridership, we are bound to adjust the fare system according to the current operating environment. Hong Kong Tramways, however, believes passengers will be benefited by the sustainable improvement of the tram system that brings in safer, more reliable and green transportation service to the Hong Kong community
