Kicking off Tramways' centenary celebrations, Hongkong Post is issuing the "Centenary of Hong Kong Trams" special stamps today. The stamp series highlights the various stages in HKT's historical development in Hong Kong between 1904 and 2004.

In addition, a series of commemorative programmes will be organised by HKT in the coming months to mark this special occasion, including a drawing and a photo-taking competitions, a photo gallery exhibition, free tram rides for charitable associations and tourists on antique trams, culminating in the highlight event Tramways' Centenary Party to be held at Times Square on Saturday, July 31.
Apart from the stamp issue, HKT also announced that a special Tramways' Centenary Souvenir Ticket Set will be on sale in July. The Souvenir Ticket Set includes a monthly ticket valid for rides to any destination within a month, a foldable 3-D classic tramcar and a booklet illustrating the development of tramways' history.
